I believe those tools are here already, not identical but I'll try to make them better.
As for zoom - if you're using Chrome you can use "Ctrl", "+" or "-" keys to zoom in/out.

it would be nice too to have a canvas size and orientation option

It would be nice to have more variety and the same tool have different options within it rather than making the options an entirely new tool. I do appreciate this site but, I'm so disappointed that after mastering the old tools, here doesn't seem to be any improvement in the update only a less expensive way to present the same the tool and more commercials. I'd be happy to buy an app to add to the tools that have this disappointment. To not have the option to use my favorite drawing site.

I've adjusted some brushes to make it more old app style.
It's a nice idea to add detailed settings for each tool as caballitapoco wrote - I've be working on this.
For now the crop tool as JDGildegard suggested was added recently so you can just publish the part of the image.
