The black dots are cities. The red dots are sites of massacres and/or important battles. The little triangles are mountains, and the cross-shapes are the gods. The symbol that kind of looks like the one for Pi is for ancient ruins of some sort or another
1. The Dead Zone. It's a gigantic, freezing, flat, windy plain devoid of trees or foliage. There are tons of violent undead and nuked cities here. The entirety of it is dripping with radiation.
2. Glacial Wall. Built by the ice god to prevent the Dead Zone's threats spilling out onto his property and those of his allies.
ah. Yes. I somewhat have an idea for another place, and it is essentially further out, where plenty of foliage lives. Like, way too much for people to even go through.
Number three is Hanek, a friendly and very religious nation who's main industries are fishing, trade, and oil. The larger city is called Northshore, and is where most of the population resides. The smaller one is Aeirshe's Keep, which is populated entirely by worshippers of Aeirshe and Aeirshe herself. The powerful religious leaders that reside in the Keep rule over the general populace relatively well.
Basically, people who get too close to it wander around it in a blurry haze for days on end before starving to death as a result of being incapable of feeding themselves
And then the forest munches on their corpses
The big grey area in the center of the forest is a clearing where a bunch of old-looking temples and cities are located. A ton of tentacle bois vibe there
Numero four-o is Lundite territory. They don't really have cities, but they wanted to have first dibs on the carnage that might happen if the glacial wall's gate shattered.
These are the main races:
Dwarves: Humans descended from radiation-victims. Shorter and stouter than humans, and prone to reckless behavior.
Kerothids: An alien species. They are usually pacifists, but will defend themselves if needed. They look like Mind Flayers (the DnD ones) with crustacean traits (a hard shell in some places, crablike claws for hands, etc). Their god, the Deep One, is one of the most powerful.
Humans: No description needed.
Revenants: Undead who don't change much from their previous lives, and don't try to eat people. Most of them live with the Kerothids, as they offer them free room and board out of curiosity and pity. They aren't welcome in most cities.
Caprans: Goatlike humanoids
I've rethought my previous stuff, and decided that instead of having the setting be 1000 years after the gods' emergence, it'll be more like 25. That way, it'll be more interesting and recent-feeling and still have some decent history. I've done quite a bit of thinkery-dinking, and decided that the new-ish setting shall be like dis:
Basically, the gods pop up and start doin' bonkers stuff. as you know
The newer idea is that the gods, upon their arrival, sort of warped the land around them to form an area as they appeared. So, that's where the other races came from, and why gods that probably wouldn't be able to build stuff did so anyway
25 years seems like sufficient time for everybody to get somewhat used to the existence of the Immortals and the other races. To keep things interesting, let's assume that there are still large swathes of land that are being fought over, rampant interspecies violence, rogue and highly aggressive gods roaming about, and demigods are starting to appear. All that will most likely make for a cool setting
Ooh, maybe in addition to that, portals of varying size randomly pop up all over the landscape and either plop something out or suck something in before dissappearing
oh well
